It’s a CLEAR kayak!
Our Clear Kayaks provide maximum visibility for viewing sea life while you leisurely paddle the SW Florida coastal waters.
CLEAR vs. Standard Kayak?
A CLEAR kayak is all about visibility… and water clarity is best at high tide, low wind / surf conditions (less churn to suspend sediment). Paddlers often say CLEAR kayaks are a little less comfortable since you sit on the bottom. They also can take a bit more effort since they generally don’t track as well as a standard kayak. Both styles have pros and cons. It depends on the experience you are looking for.
CLEAR Kayak Special Considerations
Capacity: Tandem (double) kayaks fitted for two adults.
Weight Limit: The weight limit is 425 pounds per boat and no more than 250 pounds per seat.
Care: To reduce scratching the clear polycarbonate outer surface PLEASE DO NOT DRAG THE KAYAK in shallow water, at the beach, or during launch or take-out. Exit the kayak while it is floating and carry it over shallow sand bars or up on the beach.
Intended Use: Please use for wildlife and eco touring where minimal gear is placed inside the kayak. To reduce scratching the clear polycarbonate inside surface PLEASE DO NOT LOAD ANY BEACH GEAR. Chairs, large coolers, umbrellas and such are not allowed. Please rent a conventional kayak / paddleboard for an outing to Big Hickory Beach.
