The 2-hour rental is our most popular, giving you just the right amount of time to explore the area and not feel rushed! We go over the best routes on a map and make sure you are confident with where you are going before you get on the water.

A 2-hour rental generally provides ample time to enjoy a self-guided CLEAR kayak adventure searching prime wildlife habitat around Big Hickory Island. Playful dolphins are resident here year round and spotted most days. Manatees are migratory and can often be found in the warm water months. Shore bird populations are healthy, and pelicans and ospreys can usually be seen. CLEAR kayaks are tandems with a weight limit of 425# per kayak with no more than 250# per seat. Paddlers often say CLEAR kayaks are a bit less comfortable since you sit on the bottom of the kayak. They also can take a bit more effort since they don’t track as well as a regular kayak. Both styles have pros and cons… it depends what experience you’re looking for!

Upon arrival let us know if you need a lesson on proper paddleboarding techniques and we’ll make sure you are comfortable on your board. Be aware that clear paddle boards are a bit heavier and flatter than regular boards so will take a bit more effort the navigate. We are the only company in SW Florida that offers clear paddle board rentals!

Our Big Hickory Island launch is perfect for SUPs! We’ll make sure you’re confident with where you are going by reviewing our map that goes out with you. If you are a beginner let us know and we’ll gladly go over SUP paddle basics before you get on the water.

We have great fishing spots that are an easy paddle (or pedal) from our launch on Big Hickory Island. Most fishers will kayak out to one of our fishing locations and then enjoy relaxed wade fishing. Hobies are great fishing platforms and include rod holders and extra deck space.
