Here are the most important things you need to know to make your tour as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!
-
Our tour is beginner friendly and we paddle calm shallow waters, most of the tour is about 3-5 feet deep.
-
Yes, we allow ages 3+ on our tours. Youth lifejackets are available and we recommend bringing your own jacket if your child is under the age of 5. We also recommend using a tandem kayak with children in the front and adults in the back.
-
Yes, we love having dogs join our guided tours or rentals! You can sit them on the front of your paddleboard or next to you in a kayak. We recommend bringing a pet life vest, something to clean up after them, as well as a leash. There are many secluded islands and sandbars to run around on.
-
Yes. Our tandem kayaks float up to 500lbs and singles 350lbs. CLEAR tandem kayaks hold up to 425lbs or 250lbs per seat. Most SUP’s float up to 250lbs (we have several size boards to correctly size our guests)
-
Absolutely! All of our kayaks are the new sit-on top style and very comfortable! The high back seats provide great back support making your time on the water much more enjoyable!
-
It doesn’t happen often as our kayaks offer great stability. The majority of the route is shallow so you can stand right up if you do go in.
-
We check the weather, tides, and wind charts daily. Cancellations usually occur due to lightning or high winds and we will make sure to reschedule your group if needed. We don’t mind getting a little wet if light showers pop up as long as your group doesn’t mind either.
-
There’s an abundance of marine life frequenting our area, using the inlets to travel from the Bay to the Gulf. We paddle the same highways that they use to navigate daily. Although we can’t guarantee that you will see wildlife, we know the hotspots and always do our best to get you a front row seat!
-
Nope, they don’t like the saltwater!
-
It is customary in the United States to give a gratuity to service staff who have done a great job. Our guides go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience while on the water! Typical gratuity ranges from 10% – 20% based on your experience. It is not required, but always greatly appreciated!
-
Hats, sunglasses (Polarized recommended), sunscreen or clothes to stay protected from the sun, water shoes or flip flops, drinks/snacks, and an outfit you don’t mind getting a little wet. PLEASE be sure to bring any empty bottles or trash back with you. We have trash cans at our launch location. Don’t trash where you splash!
-
During peak season our tours and rentals can book up quickly. We recommend making your reservation a few days to a week in advance.
-
Yes. We provide dry boxes that will keep your smaller items dry and secure!

A CLEAR kayak is all about visibility… and water clarity is best at high tide / during an incoming tide, low wind / surf conditions (less churn to suspend sediment). Paddlers often say CLEAR kayaks are a little less comfortable since you sit on the bottom with clip in seats. They also can take a bit more effort since they generally don’t track as well as a standard kayak. Both styles have pros and cons. It depends on the experience you are looking for.
